Ahead of their first 2023 headline show LIPSTEREO offers pure pop indie rock on 'Push The Tide'

Today, LIPSTEREO presents 'Push The Tide' which is their second instalment from their forthcoming Live EP. The track is a recent recording captured during a worldwide live streamed concert called “Let Me Help - Children Of The World”, presented by Noise11.com. This is on the eve of their first major show for 2023 at The Tote (Melbourne) on Friday 17 March.

Filmed in the “Scrap Museum” at Bakehouse Studios in Melbourne, LIPSTEREO’s new song, 'Push The Tide' was telecast live from New York City on behalf of children’s charities across the world. ‘Push The Tide’ will be packaged with two other songs from the live set on a forthcoming new 3 track EP. The new EP will be wedged in between the band’s debut produced by Mark Opitz AM, Modern Mythology (released November 2022) and their forthcoming EP which will also be produced by Opitz.

The song instantly kicks off without a musical intro and urgently telegraphs the first verse with fierce jangly guitars which could convincingly appear on an early Arctic Monkeys release. Lead singer, Sam Stranges blurts out the author's relationship ailments, parental entanglements and an appeal to be decisive on matters of trust.

Impressively, 'Push The Tide' was captured live in one take and recorded by David Ross with audio, mixing and production by Colin Wynne (Thirty Mill Studios). The live video was filmed in 4K by Park Avenue Media.

The single’s cover artwork is a collage designed by Ethan Bowman.

2022 was a ground breaking year for LIPSTEREO, selling out every headline show while their 'Stop' music video regularly played on Rage and MTV. They even pioneered a new TikTok genre, performing a "Blind Cover," of a trending song without actually listening to it - including ‘Anti-Hero’ by Taylor Swift, ‘Made You Look’ by Meghan Trainor and ‘Life Goes On’ by Oliver Tree. The latter video has racked up 4.9 million views to date.

Their debut EP, ‘Modern Mythology’, entered the US college radio charts and reached the US Top 10 SubModern album commercial airplay charts. Media coverage including NME, Rolling Stone (Record Of The Week) and Beat Magazine kept LIPSTEREO on their toes.

To celebrate these milestones the band will kick off 2023 with a live show at The Tote with fellow Melburnians, In Transit and Peach Fuzz. LIPSTEREO will also be road testing new songs prior to recording their second EP.
